RopuNawa & Freya – Announcing presenters
RopuNawa
RopuNawa first encountered Shibari/Kinbaku in 2008 at a performance in Australia. This performance stayed with him on his way back to Switzerland, where he began his own journey with the rope. He formed the foundation from Osada Steve’s style, which was taught in Switzerland at that time. However, he did not stay with this one style, but was inspired by many other teachers. For RopuNawa, there is not one way to tie, but the heart of his style lies in the need of his model. These needs can be as diverse as the individuality of the people themselves, and through the diversity of his style, he can best respond to his partners needs and wants. He appreciates the non verbal connection that he can create with each tying partner.
The aesthetics he picked up while first getting to know Akira Naka’s style, who influenced him early on. While Naka still accompanies him today, Tifereth has inspired him on this path for the last 2 years as well.
Yoroi was another of his great first influences, who’s style gave RopuNawa’s taste for less is more space to develop. Yagami Ren also influenced him in this direction.
Today RopuNawa unites parts of all these styles in his personal rope art, which he lives and teaches in his dojo in Basel, as he continues to travel the world, giving workshops and getting inspired by his old teachers and new encounters.

Freya
Freya’s first experience with rope was in Hamburg in 2015 with Matthias Grimme. Because of her fascination with communication through the body, beyond all algorithms, she was repeatedly drawn to Shibari, whereby she explored and deepened both the intensity and the various dynamics with her partner. Furthermore, immersing herself into the art of bondage offers her an important platform for personal expression. The continuing passion has offered her the possibility to travel internationally as a model for workshops, shootings and performances since 2018.

Workshops
Breathless Pleasure – The Choker Tie
(Workshop level: L3)
Known as an erogenous area for titillating sensations, the neck is a wonderful location for sharing deep connection and intense play.
In this 120 minute workshop, RopuNawa and his model Freya Hellesdîm will present the choker tie – how to safely play with tying hands to the neck, and the differences in intensity, practicality, and aesthetics.
The choker tie is a blissful and very powerful experience for both rigger and model, and also very tricky to do right. The workshop will dedicate time to safety considerations and important technical details.
Power Exchange Simplified
(Workshop level: L1-3)
RopuNawa presents a set of tools for power exchange play in ropes with his Partner Freya Hellesdîm. Simple ties, and psychological background on how or why we can play this way are offered in the workshop.
The techniques for the shaping of the body before the application of rope. While rope holds the model in place, the interaction begins with the manipulation of the model’s body into shapes. These techniques offer a new way of interaction between the rigger and the model.
In ropes we often have a power exchange setting with the rigger building the session based on what the person being tied inspires and suggests. This can also happen non-verbally by communicating via ropes.
Presenting a clear intention and knowing what we like to show of ourselves are important elements of a power exchange session.
Strappado Torsion
(Workshop level: L3)
In this Workshop we will look at a simple 2 ropes Strappado.
We will be going for Suspension in this class – so both partners should be comfortable with Suspension.
RopuNawa and Freya introduce a very unique shape where a lot of different inspirations are mixed together.
