May & Thalia – Announcing presenters
May started doing rope bondage in 2014 and instantly became passionate about rigging, which she saw as a possibility to creatively shape the body and mind of her partners.
She started her journey by attending the parisian rope jams where she gathered a lot of empirical knowledge. She also learned from teachers with various styles, who made her conscious of the importance of solid technical skills and aware of the various ways to explore shibari.
Her personal approach is defined by a vision of shibari as a meeting ground between aesthetic and erotic emotions. Part of her practice is inspired by the style of Naka Akira, for its aesthetic expressivity and powerful emotional impact but she also loves to experiment with more dynamic and chaotic ways of tying. Most of the time her style combines elements and concepts from those different approaches to bring a twist to the classics or create unexpected shapes.
She is co-founder and teacher at Port d’Attaches, a Paris based collective project that creates rope related events since 2019.
