Tifereth’s introduction to rope bondage came in 2011 in the form of a surprisingly enjoyable futomomo tsuri. Since then she’s drawn on her dual background in high-performance athletics and figurative arts to push herself physically and aesthetically on both ends of the rope. Known for her dynamic style of sadism, performative rope and creative approach to harness construction, she loves conveying her passion through engaging hands-on methods of instruction. She’s the co-owner of Birdhaus, an events and photography studio where she teaches and performs locally in Toronto. Tifereth is a regular on the global Shibari scene with credits including Prague Shibari Festival, Bondage Expo Dallas, Eurix, Helsinki Shibari, Sydney’s Killer Babes of Kinbaku, Shibaricon, as well as weekend workshops and performances all over the globe. She is most often found wherever the weird stuff is. Find out more about Tifereth at www.stringtheoryshibari.com.

As a bottom, she greatly benefits from her experience with challenging ties. Her passion is sharing information about rope-bottoming both for floorwork and suspensions. Has various sports and dancing background, loves to look at body and mind as a inseperable unit.

Workshops

Body Manipulation on the Ground

(Workshop level: L1-3)

Understanding in an intuitive way the way a body moves in space is essential to sculpting the figure. In this workshop we will explore on the ground controlling and moving our partners in space, ultimately working towards a better command of leverage.

The Swiss Armyness

(Workshop level: L1-3)

The Swiss Armyness is a deceptively simple tie with a myriad of interesting applications. Ultra minimal, quick to tie, and surprisingly sustainable with seemingly endless variations it has versatile applications both on the ground and in the air.

Riggers should be familiar with both single columns and in-line column or hojo cuffs, as well as having good tension management. If exploring in the air, they should have a very good understanding of balancing tension on suspension lines, and very good safety practices.

Models should be comfortable with pressure on the arms, as well as having very good communication skills.

Put A Stick In It!

(Workshop level: L1-3)

In this class we’ll explore various ways of incorporating pieces of bamboo into our ties in both unstructured and more precise ways. Our sticks can then be enjoyed either on the ground or in the air, as we take advantage of the extra leverage having bamboo in our ties affords.

Riggers should have a good understanding of bondage basics, good tension management, and if going to explore adding partial or full suspension to the mix good suspension line management practices.

Models should have effective communication skills, and a clear understanding of their likes and dislikes in rope.

Decision trees

(Workshop level: L3)

Suspension is a game of chess we play with anatomy and physics as our opponents, and like a game of chess if we can see chains of opportunities and consequences in our moves we are better able to see what the board has in store for us. In this class we will learn how to see everything available to us in the air, and learn strategies to make the best possible choice for our partner, our desired aesthetic, and our scenes.

Riggers should be comfortable in at least a beginner level suspension practice, with upper and lower body suspension worthy ties in their practice.

Models should have effective communication skills in rope.
